🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1965, two observers in a car saw three yellow-orange lights resembling Roman candles rising from the ground near Corvallis, Oregon. The objects ascended almost vertically to about 200 feet and disappeared. The next day, the witness found a dark oily spot on his field. A soil sample was collected, but no nitrates or sulfur were found. Although the lights resembled fireworks, no evidence of flares or pyrotechnics was found. The case was classified as unidentified.
The report includes weather data and a chemical analysis of the soil, which confirmed the presence of petroleum-based hydrocarbons. No aerial activity or natural phenomena explained the event. Although two people witnessed it, no other reports were received. The soil sample was sent to Wright-Patterson AFB for analysis, but no definitive explanation was found. The case remains unresolved, added to the long list of unidentified UFO incidents.
