🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1965, a civilian in Washington DC observed a bright object in the night sky. The object appeared suddenly in the north, with an intense blue color similar to an electric spark. As it moved rapidly toward the northwest, it left a white light trail that tapered and ended abruptly. The witness described its movement as fast but not blurred, with a trajectory that gave the impression the object was swerving slightly. Despite its unusual appearance, investigators concluded it was a meteor, lower and brighter than usual.
The description of the object, its speed, and duration (2-3 seconds) matched the characteristics of a fireball, a type of bright meteor. Although the witness did not see anyone else, she mentioned that someone in a nearby store had seen something similar before. Her report was analyzed by Project Blue Book, which classified it as an astronomical phenomenon. Despite the official response, the detailed description and the attached drawing show a clear and attentive observation.
