Summary

In March 1965, a group of astronomy enthusiasts in Rochester, New York, observed a glowing disc moving slowly across the western sky. The object did not blink or show flashing lights, which ruled out the possibility of a conventional aircraft. Although witnesses believed it was neither a satellite nor a meteor, the official report concluded it was an aircraft observation. Interestingly, the ECHO II satellite had passed earlier, and another aircraft, the Pegasus, would pass shortly after. Despite this, the observers insisted their sighting didn't match any of these explanations.

The letter they wrote to Project Bluebook reflected their genuine interest in unidentified aerial phenomena. Although no photos or physical evidence were collected, the testimony described in detail what the object was not, rather than what it was. This, along with the apparent speed and lack of lights, raised doubts about the official conclusion. While the report suggests it could have been an aircraft, the observers' description adds intrigue to this classic UFO case.
