🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1965, a witness in Lincoln, Nebraska observed about eight bright lights in the sky for a few seconds. The lights were described as resembling aircraft lights but arranged in an unusual formation. The observer noted that the lights moved in an odd pattern, forcing semicircles backward before disappearing over the horizon. The sky was clear with many stars visible, aiding the observation.
The Air Force concluded that the sighting was a B-47 bomber departing from Lincoln AFB. These aircraft, with their six engine fire lights and two over-wing lights, could appear unusual when moving away from the observer in the dark. While the conventional explanation seems plausible, the description of movement and formation didn't fully match what one would expect from a standard aircraft, leaving some mystery around the event.
