🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A pilot reported a bright orange light in the Pacific sky, 100 miles west of California, on March 30, 1965. The observation lasted 3 to 4 seconds and was described as resembling a nuclear detonation. Despite the intensity of the light, no physical object was observed and no effects were recorded on the aircraft's electronic equipment. Observers, familiar with nuclear detonations, could not identify the phenomenon with certainty. Similar sightings were reported in the area, but no official confirmation of an object was given. The analysis concluded it was likely a meteor or astronomical event.
