🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A nighttime sighting of a round, bright object was reported in Chesapeake, Virginia, in April 1965. The witness, a civilian self-employed man, observed the phenomenon for about four minutes using binoculars. The object, described as star-like and silvery with a reddish hue, moved slowly eastward and then downward. Despite its apparent motion and sudden disappearance, there were no photographs or physical evidence.
The Air Force concluded the object could have been a paraflare or similar device launched in the area. This was supported by the coincidence with an echo detected in the area at the same time. The report noted the witness was considered reliable and weather conditions were ideal for observation. Although no military activity was confirmed, the report suggested the phenomenon was more consistent with a terrestrial device than a supernatural event.
