🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1965, several children in Bedford, Ohio, observed a significant number of unidentified flying objects. Although the exact duration of the observation was not reported and no photos were taken, the children wrote a letter to President Lyndon B. Johnson asking whether the objects were friendly. Their message reflected a mix of curiosity and innocence, suggesting that if the objects were hostile, they could be easily destroyed. The letter was answered by the Air Force, which explained that there was no evidence that UFOs were of extraterrestrial origin or posed a threat. However, the official report concluded that there was insufficient information to evaluate the incident, and an additional form was requested but never returned.
The official government response showed a pragmatic approach, stating that most unexplained aerial phenomena had natural or human explanations. Despite this, the children's letter highlights the fascination and mystery surrounding UFOs at that time. The document also includes a signature and a blurry image, possibly of one of the children, adding a personal touch to a case that, although unresolved, captured the imagination of those who experienced it.
