🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1965, a military observer in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, reported the sighting of a bright object moving rapidly from west to east. The object was described as bright as the brightest planet and was observed for seven minutes, from an angle of 90 degrees down to 20 degrees above the horizon. The speed of the object was described as "very fast," which surprised the observers. Although initially considered a satellite, later analysis ruled out known satellites like ECHO I and ECHO II, suggesting it could have been a Pegasus satellite or another visible object in orbit.
The conclusion was based on the trajectory and brightness of the object, which did not match the expected parameters of known satellites at the time. The report was shared with several military and intelligence agencies, including the CIA, and was classified as a possible satellite rather than an unidentified phenomenon. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the case was closed as a satellite-related event, not considered a UFO sighting in the strict sense.
