🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1965, a family in Vandalia, Ohio, observed two luminous objects crossing the sky for three minutes. The witnesses, including children and adults, saw the objects maintain a horizontal formation while moving eastward. Although initially thought to be satellites, the official evaluation concluded there was no conclusive evidence to rule out aircraft. The objects made no noise, did not change color, and disappeared over the horizon without leaving physical evidence.
A second report, dated around 10:52 PM, described a single white object behaving similarly to known satellites, though it made an unexpected turn south before vanishing. Investigators identified it as the ECHO I satellite, but could not fully explain the first sighting of two objects. The confusion between satellites, aircraft, and potential unexplained phenomena highlights the complexity of UFO reports from that era.
