🇪🇸 Ejército del Aire
In November 1968, an Iberia flight from Barcelona to Alicante reported an unusual aerial phenomenon. The crew of the Caravelle IB-249 observed a very large light with two smaller side lights. The object descended, turned off, and then ascended again before disappearing toward the Mediterranean. Although the Barcelona air traffic control did not register any radar contact, the crew's description suggests an unusual and strange behavior.
The official report lacks data on the object's size, altitude, or speed, which limits any conclusive analysis. However, the fact that the light turned off and moved unexpectedly raised attention. Despite the lack of additional evidence, the crew's testimony and the nature of the phenomenon raise interesting questions about what it could have been. The file was eventually declassified and archived as unclassified.
