🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1965, a civilian from Watauga, South Dakota, observed two unidentified flying objects for over an hour. The objects were described as round white lights resembling stars, moving erratically in all directions. One object briefly disappeared behind a cloud, while the other vanished after continuing its path. The witness, a former U.S. Air Force aviation chief with experience in night flights, stated the objects were not aircraft or balloons and moved at surprising speeds. Although he tried to estimate their distance, he concluded they were within the atmosphere but could not determine their exact altitude.
The report includes a detailed description of the objects' movements, which paused at times and approached each other, creating the impression of interaction. The witness and his family reported similar sightings in the following months, but official confirmation was not always obtained. Despite multiple observations and collaboration with neighbors, the objects were not detected by radar. The case was classified as an astrophysical phenomenon, though the witness remains convinced the objects were not of conventional origin.
