🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1965, a witness in Rochester, Minnesota, observed an unusual aerial phenomenon that drew the attention of local air traffic controllers. The object, brighter than the stars, displayed erratic movements, including periods of stillness, changes in brightness, and visible shadows as it crossed the moon. The sighting lasted about seven minutes, though controllers at the local airport claimed to have tracked the object for 40 minutes. Although a weather balloon was considered as a possible explanation, no conclusive evidence was found. The account was recorded in a detailed form that collected information on the date, time, location, weather conditions, the object's appearance, and additional witness accounts.
The document also includes an official form for reporting unidentified aerial sightings. This tool requested precise data such as the observer's exact location, the duration of the sighting, the object's movement, color, sound, and whether other witnesses confirmed the event. Additionally, it asked for the informant's personal information and any other relevant details. These types of records were common at the time to gather data on UFO sightings and help authorities determine if the objects were known or unexplained phenomena.
