Summary

A group of observers in Avon, New York, reported seeing a bright white light surrounded by several smaller lights on the night of August 6, 1960. These phenomena occurred repeatedly on following nights, causing some alarm and curiosity. Additionally, an intermittent green light was observed gliding silently across the sky, disappearing behind a tree. Despite the repeated sightings, no photographs or physical evidence were recorded, complicating the investigation.

The report concluded that the observed objects were likely misinterpretations of conventional objects, such as stars and aircraft. Since the data was insufficient to warrant further investigation, the case was classified under "Other (Misinterpretation of Conventional Objects)". Although an unusual phenomenon was not entirely ruled out, the most reasonable explanation was considered to be the simplest one.
