🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
Three round white objects with long trails were observed over Glenmora, Louisiana, on the early morning of August 5, 1965. A civilian witness described the objects as resembling the shape of a wash tub, with a white-blue color, similar to a welder’s torch. Three objects were seen, two of them approximately five minutes apart, all with long trails estimated between 50 and 100 yards. The witness estimated the altitude at one mile and reported no sound. The observation lasted about five seconds and was made visually from the ground. Although the report suggested the objects could be meteors, the description and behavior did not fully match typical meteor characteristics.
The official report concluded the objects were astronomical in nature, but did not rule out the possibility of atmospheric phenomena or unidentified aircraft. The witness, a 48-year-old man, seemed sincere but was unsure of his estimates for direction, altitude, and other technical details. Weather conditions were clear, with no clouds or atmospheric phenomena that could explain the sighting. Despite the lack of definitive identification, the report considered the possibility of high-altitude aircraft with contrails. The case was documented as part of Project 10073’s efforts to investigate UFO reports.
