🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, several UFO sightings were reported in Hawaii. One notable event occurred on August 4, when a bright object was seen falling from the sky southwest of Oahu. Two pilots reported that the object was so luminous it illuminated their cockpit. Initially thought to resemble a re-entry vehicle, further investigation suggested it was likely a meteor or a decaying spacecraft.
Another significant sighting happened on August 4 when a C-130 crew observed a high-altitude, high-speed UFO. An ocean station also reported the object lighting up the sky. After investigation, it was concluded that the object was likely an Atlas missile launched from Vandenberg AFB. Despite the timing and location matching, the connection could not be confirmed with certainty. These reports, along with other minor sightings, were deemed non-significant due to the lack of physical evidence or additional testimonies.
