🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, a woman in Baltimore, Maryland, reported seeing a bluish-gray object with flashing red and green rotating lights. The object appeared at around 200 feet in altitude and moved from north to south for one minute. What stood out was that, according to the report, the object suddenly gained altitude within seconds. Despite the brief observation, it was recorded as a case with physical evidence.
The official military response was short and clear: they attributed the sudden altitude change to unusual atmospheric conditions or an optical illusion. Although the report did not completely rule out the possibility of an unidentified object, it was classified as likely an aircraft observation. This response reflected the common approach of the time, which often explained UFO phenomena with conventional causes.
