Summary

In August 1965, a civilian in Fresno, California, reported seeing a red object in the sky, initially thought to be a star. The witness, using a rifle telescope, described the object as unusually red and noted it moved behind trees ten minutes later. Another observer suggested it might be a satellite, but the object's movement didn't match known astronomical bodies. Investigators noted the lack of detailed data and the absence of major stars or planets in the southwest sky at that time, leading to the conclusion that the data was insufficient for a definitive evaluation.

The official report, part of Project 10073, indicated that no additional form was received for further analysis. While a civilian aircraft (A/C) was considered, it couldn't be confirmed due to the lack of physical evidence and additional data. This case, like many others, highlights the difficulty investigators face in determining the nature of observed objects without more complete information. Despite the ambiguity, the witness was deemed credible and truthful, and he was asked to provide further details if available.
