UFO seen in Freemont California in 1965

Summary

In August 1965, a witness in Freemont, California, reported a white light object in the sky. The observer saw it from a highway at 0 degrees elevation and described unusual maneuvers. The object first made a tight turn toward the southeast, then leveled off at about 20 degrees elevation and made a wide sweeping turn toward the west, disappearing. The report, part of project 10073, concluded the object could have been a civilian aircraft, though no photos or physical evidence were obtained to confirm this.

The report was reviewed by personnel at Hamilton Air Force Base and sent to APOS for further analysis. A film was submitted for evaluation, but no additional information was found. Witnesses were sent thank you letters, and the case was closed without a definitive explanation.
