In August 1965, a witness in Calumet City, Illinois, spotted an unusual object in the sky. The object, described as dark with flashing yellow and green lights, was moving southward at a speed too slow for an aircraft. It remained visible for five minutes, drawing attention due to its brightness, surpassing that of the stars. The observer noted that the object passed directly overhead, at a low altitude, and disappeared behind some trees. Its description suggests it was neither a natural phenomenon nor a conventional plane.
The description of the object includes details such as its shape, with a dome on top and a saucer-like appearance, wider at the bottom. The flashing lights and the absence of sound or trail make it unusual. The report, prepared by an Air Force officer, did not reach a clear conclusion, indicating that the phenomenon was not identified and no action was taken. The case remains unresolved, adding a touch of mystery to this nighttime sighting.
