🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, a young observer in Little Rock, Arkansas, reported a unidentified flying object that appeared like a bright star with a slight blueish hue. The sighting occurred around 7:35 PM and lasted between 1 and 2 minutes. The witness, interested in space exploration, described how the object zigzagged as it moved toward the southeast, without making any sound, ruling out a plane. Despite the clear sky and the observer's attention, no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found.
The U.S. Air Force evaluated the report and concluded the object was a satellite. They argued that the apparently irregular movement could be due to optical illusions or atmospheric conditions. At the time, more than thirty satellites were visible to the naked eye, supporting this explanation. The official report was signed by Colonel Eric T. Jonckheere, who noted that other possibilities were not ruled out, but the description matched what was expected of a satellite.
