🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, a civilian in Kingston, New York reported seeing a bright object with a yellowish tint. The witness described the object as star-like, without a tail or trail, and observed it for 3 to 5 minutes. Although binoculars were used, no further details were obtained. The object was moving northward and disappeared into the clouds. Investigators considered the possibility that it was the ECHO II satellite, which had passed over the area shortly before the sighting.
The official report concluded that the object had typical satellite characteristics, although the witness noted it moved faster than other satellites previously observed. The duration of the sighting and the object's trajectory matched satellite behavior, leading to the classification of the report as a satellite sighting. Despite the detailed description from the witness, there was no physical evidence or photographs to support the sighting, leaving open the possibility that it was a natural phenomenon or an unusual satellite.
