🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, a family in Cherry Creek, western New York, reported an unusual encounter with a UFO. Three teenagers, including 16-year-old Harold Butcher, observed a flying saucer resembling two dinner plates joined face to face, measuring 50 feet long and 20 feet thick. The object, described as shiny silver with red glowing streamers and a red-yellow trail, moved between clouds and the ground. Witnesses noted radio interference, a tractor stopping abruptly, and a restless bull.
An official investigation found no conclusive physical evidence, though a purple oily substance unrelated to the sighting was found. Three technicians and an Air Force officer concluded the sighting was not a hoax, though one technician remained doubtful. Harold sketched the object, and investigators deemed the testimony consistent. Despite the lack of physical proof, the case remains a mystery to authorities.
