🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, two commercial airline pilots reported a bright object with a silvery edge, similar to an arc welder. The sighting occurred near Battle Mountain, Nevada, while the planes were flying at 35,000 feet. The object was described as bright white with a green or blue tint, moving horizontally at a speed much faster than the aircraft. Despite the pilots' attempts to identify it, its nature remained unclear. The Air Force concluded the sighting could be related to a meteor, but no physical evidence was found.
The report includes a detailed questionnaire highlighting the challenges in obtaining precise information. The pilots could not be directly interviewed, and the object's description relied on brief and subjective observations. Although a reentry satellite was considered, it was not confirmed. The case was filed without a definitive explanation, leaving open the possibility that the object was an unidentified phenomenon.
