🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, an Air Force officer observed an unidentified flying object near Plattsburgh, New York. The report describes the object as a flat, disc-shaped craft with a diameter of 15 to 20 feet. It performed rapid turns with a radius of half a mile and disappeared at a speed estimated at Mach 1.5. The witness, an experienced command pilot, used Japanese field artillery binoculars to observe it for three minutes. The object had bright, metallic, bluish reflections and moved through the sky with no visible exhaust or sound. Radar at the airfield recorded jamming in the area, adding to the mystery.
The Air Force requested an investigation into possible aircraft in the area and the cause of the radar interference. The report concludes that the object did not match any known aircraft and the witness considered the phenomenon unusual. Despite detailed observations, no physical evidence was found and the object remains unidentified.
