🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, a civilian in Oakwood, Ohio, reported observing an aerial object moving from south to north for five minutes. The witness described it as a solid, bright object with steady motion, clearly distinguishable from a star. The estimated speed was one arc second per second, which is quite fast but not unusual for objects in orbit. The report suggested it could be a satellite, though other possibilities were not ruled out. The sighting occurred at 23:10, and although the exact time of the first observation was not reported, the object remained visible long enough for analysis.
The technical document from Project 10073 includes detailed questions about sky conditions, the observer's location, and the object's characteristics. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the report concludes that the sighting is consistent with a satellite observation. The duration and trajectory of the object were clearly recorded, allowing for a more precise evaluation. While this case does not definitively solve the mystery, it provides valuable data for understanding unidentified aerial phenomena from that era.
