🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1965, an object was observed in Nebraska using a theodolite. The report details that the object had the size of a pinhead and was moving at a constant speed. A witness observed it for a few minutes and described it as something that did not seem like a conventional object. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the observation was recorded as part of an investigation project. The report concludes that the object could be a weather balloon, but other explanations are not ruled out.
The report, partially illegible due to OCR errors, shows how observers of the time attempted to document unexplained aerial phenomena using basic tools. The visual description and the use of a theodolite suggest a careful approach to observation, typical of the records from that era. Despite the lack of physical evidence, this type of report helped build a database for the study of UFOs in the 1960s.
