🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1965, a resident of Ketchikan, Alaska, reported a luminous object moving at high speed over the Herring Cove area. The witness, along with other adults and children, observed a bright ball of fire measuring between 15 and 20 feet in diameter. The object was at an approximate altitude of 2,200 feet and was moving eastward at an estimated speed exceeding 300 knots. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, military authorities investigated the case as part of standard procedure.
The description of the phenomenon aligns with other unidentified aerial reports from the time, which often included erratic lights and characteristic sounds. Despite efforts to gather more information, no definitive conclusion was reached. The report was distributed to various military units and intelligence agencies, highlighting the significance placed on unidentified aerial sightings during that era.
