🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1965, an unidentified flying object was observed in St. Petersburg, Florida, prompting a detailed report by the United States Air Force. Two witnesses, Mr. Slédrad and Mr. Elliot, reported seeing an object with a distinct configuration, blue-white in color, moving at a speed 2-3 times faster than the Echo satellite. The object was first noticed while the witnesses were preparing to observe the star Polaris. The object appeared 30 degrees above the horizon and was heading north, then turned east and ascended out of sight.
The description of the object emphasized that it was not a star or a conventional aircraft, causing some confusion about its nature. Although no physical evidence was found, the report includes testimony from a member of the University of Florida's physical sciences staff, who also observed the phenomenon from a nearby location. The Air Force concluded that the report did not present elements indicating a threat or abnormal phenomenon, but it was logged as part of their database on unidentified flying objects.
