🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1965, a civilian in Bakersfield, California, reported an unidentified flying object seen at low altitude. The witness described three bright lights, one in front of the others, with a yellow-orange color that did not flicker. The sighting lasted a few minutes, and the observer noted the object was moving slowly, at an estimated speed of around 140 mph. Although initially thought to be a conventional aircraft, the lack of noise and unusual appearance of the lights left the witness puzzled.
The official report suggested it could be a test aircraft or an infrared photo mission, given the description of colors and speed. The witness, a civilian with no technical background, provided a detailed and coherent account. The Air Force responded that there was no evidence UFOs were extraterrestrial, and that reports were explained by natural phenomena or misinterpretations. Despite this, the case was filed under the category of "possible aircraft," without a definitive resolution.
