🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An Air Force officer reported a luminous object in 1965. The incident occurred in the Pacific, near 39°42'N and 127°32'W. The observer, an aircraft commander, saw a reddish yellow ball of light descending. The object appeared 35 degrees above the horizon and remained visible for about 4 minutes before fading away. It was initially considered a meteor or space debris, but the duration and description didn't match those phenomena. No photos were taken and no physical evidence was found. The preliminary assessment concluded it wasn't a conventional phenomenon, though a reporting error in duration wasn't ruled out.
