🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A report from October 23, 1965, describes the observation of a tubular object near Alexander City, Alabama. The witness, who was hunting, saw a silver object between 3 and 5 feet tall with an antenna-like appendage projecting from the bottom. The object moved continuously, weaving at a low elevation toward the east for over a minute. Although a balloon was considered, no physical evidence was found and no photos were taken. The object's description and motion didn't fit conventional explanations easily.
The Air Force logged the report under number 54842 and distributed it to several intelligence units. Weather data and wind directions were recorded, but no clear correlation with the object's movement was found. The report concluded the object could be a balloon, though this was not confirmed. The witness did not report how the object disappeared, adding mystery to the observation. As with many other cases, this one was classified as "civilian likely" and not further investigated.
