🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1965, a mysterious fireball crossed the sky over Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, leaving witnesses puzzled. Observers reported a bright light moving slowly, leaving a visible smoke trail for at least 20 minutes. Although authorities suggested it might be a meteorite, the trajectory and speed didn't match typical natural phenomena. A photographer captured an image of the smoke cloud, but no physical evidence was found. Searches in wooded and swampy areas were unsuccessful, and reports of strange metallic objects added to the mystery. Despite efforts, the origin of the phenomenon remained unclear, leaving theories about its nature open.
Confusion increased when metal strips were found in a swamp near Detroit and a wooded area in Pennsylvania was sealed off. Military and civilian authorities collaborated in the search but found nothing. An official from the Blue Book Project concluded it was likely a meteorite, but collected data didn't confirm this hypothesis. The lack of clear information about the object's trajectory and speed, along with conflicting testimonies, kept the mystery intact. This case remains an enigma for UFO researchers.
