🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian in Albany, Oregon, reported an object that appeared like a star moving in a straight line on the night of December 14, 1965. The observer noted that the object was moving away from another star and fading into a cloud formation. The observation lasted between 3 and 4 minutes and occurred at an elevation of about 33 degrees above the horizon. Although initially considered a satellite, investigators concluded it was likely one of the two Boeing 720 aircraft in the area at the time.
The report includes meteorological data and air traffic information, suggesting the object was not supernatural or an UFO, but a civilian aircraft heading south. The temporal and spatial coincidence between the sighting and the movement of the planes supports this explanation. Despite the lack of photographs or physical evidence, the detailed description of the object and its behavior helped analysts rule out other possibilities.
