🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1965, a woman in Ohio reported seeing a bright orange object moving unpredictably. The object was observed for an hour and a half while she was driving through the Newark and Harbor Hills area. Initially moving slowly, it then accelerated suddenly, maintaining a smooth and rapid motion. At times it appeared stationary, while at others it moved northwest. The observer heard no sound and noted the object turned white as it disappeared. The Air Force found no physical or photographic evidence, but highlighted that the observer was coherent and sincere.
The report details that the object was visually observed from the ground, without instruments, and was three to four times larger than an airplane landing light. The observer mentioned an approaching plane with landing lights on near Columbus, suggesting the object was not a conventional aircraft. The object followed state routes and an interstate highway, indicating a trajectory not typical of normal air traffic. Despite the prolonged observation, the object remained unidentified, and the responsible officer concluded there was no clear explanation.
