🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A young man from Kentucky reported in 1966 an object that appeared as a white light with a flashing or rotating red light. He observed it for ten minutes in the south-southwestern sky, where there were no visible stars. Looking through binoculars, he described a "dancing" or "flickering fire" movement. After looking away for a few minutes, the object was gone. The Air Force considered it possibly the star Sirius seen through a cloud break. No further reports or physical evidence were found.
