🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1966, a bright white object was observed for two hours above Youngstown, Ohio. Two witnesses, one from the ground and another from the top of a building, described a round object with an inner light that appeared to be illuminated. The object remained stationary in the sky, without changing direction, and became less visible as the sky brightened. Despite the prolonged observation, no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found. The observers described it as extremely bright, even brighter than stars.
The official Air Force report recorded it as a ground visual observation, with no confirmation of noise or nearby air activity. The witnesses, considered reliable, could not identify the object as a known phenomenon. Although airplane contrails were mentioned below the object, they did not help in identifying its nature. The officer who reviewed the report compared it to a large flashlight suspended in the sky, but no definitive conclusion was reached.
