🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1966, two witnesses in Kokomo, Indiana, reported a mysterious object in the sky. They described a white, round object, similar to a star, the size of a pea. The object appeared 33 degrees above the horizon and moved north with rapid lateral movements. Despite its apparent maneuverability, investigators concluded it was the satellite ECHO II. The object's movement was attributed to atmospheric refraction, not an alien craft. It disappeared in a flash of light, initially confusing the witnesses.
The observation lasted five minutes and was officially recorded by the Air Force. Although no photos were taken and there was no physical evidence, the detailed report includes coordinates, directions, and analysis. The official conclusion was that there were no signs of an unknown craft, but rather a natural or satellite phenomenon. This case is an example of how UFO reports are often explained by known phenomena, although they initially generate mystery.
