Summary

In March 1966, three U.S. Coast Guard crew members reported an unusual aerial phenomenon near Surfside, Texas. While on watch, they observed the lights of two nearby houses flashing intensely and abnormally bright. Shortly after, the entire area lost power. According to the witnesses, a bright blue object appeared in the sky, followed by another with a white glow and another with an orange hue. One observer even noted windows on the orange object. The phenomenon ended with the object's rapid disappearance, and power was restored shortly thereafter. The electric company attributed the blackout to a faulty transformer, but the crew insisted the event had no conventional explanation.

The testimonies align on several details: the main object moved slowly before accelerating and vanishing, and two smaller objects rapidly ascended from the ground. Despite no photos or physical evidence being collected, the crew was convinced of what they saw. The Coast Guard submitted reports to air authorities, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The case was filed as "Other (Blown Transformer)", although the testimonies suggest something more unusual may have occurred.
