🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1966, multiple witnesses in Michigan reported sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), mainly in swampy areas. The investigation, led by Dr. Jay Allen Hynek, concluded that the phenomena could be explained by marsh gas, a natural phenomenon caused by the decomposition of organic matter. Despite the presence of dozens of witnesses, including college students and adults, no conclusive physical evidence was found. The testimonies consistently described colored lights moving erratically and disappearing suddenly. Hynek noted that while marsh gas could not be proven with certainty as the cause, it was the most plausible explanation. The investigation also suggested the possibility of pranks by students, but this was not confirmed.
