Summary

In March 1966, a witness in Kent, Washington, observed an aerial object described as a transparent kite with dark edges. The sighting occurred at dusk and lasted between 20 and 30 minutes. The object was moving westward at a high altitude and disappeared as night fell. Another witness compared it to a biplane. Despite the varied descriptions, the official conclusion was that it was a weather balloon, as it coincided with scheduled launches at 6:00 PM. The lack of noise, exhaust, and additional activity supported this interpretation.

The report includes details on weather conditions, absence of clouds, and wind direction, which supported the balloon hypothesis. Although the witnesses did not use optical aids, the slow movement and lack of maneuvers suggested an aerostatic object. Despite the unusual descriptions, there was no interception or physical evidence, and the case was closed without further analysis.
