Summary

In April 1966, three witnesses in Bristol, Vermont, reported seeing a large, round, reddish object above the horizon. The object, described as glowing and unusually sized—comparable to a silver dollar held at arm's length—slowly descended toward the level of tree tops before disappearing after about 10 minutes. Initially, the possibility of it being the star R Coroli was considered, but the reported size and position did not align with known astronomical data. The moon was also on the horizon at the time, adding to the confusion.

The official report classified the object as an astronomical body (the moon), but the witnesses insisted on its unusual size and red glow, which didn't match natural celestial objects. No photographs or physical evidence were collected, making the case difficult to analyze. Despite clear weather conditions and no reported unusual activity, the explanation remained inconclusive. The case remains unsolved, like many others in UFO history.
