🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A red, disc-shaped object was observed for 10 minutes in Iowa City in 1966. Several witnesses, including police officers, described it as grapefruit-sized with no sound or trails. Initially thought to be a star, the duration and location ruled out other explanations.
The lack of physical evidence and the coincidence of multiple witnesses in different parts of the city raised questions. The local airbase didn't report activity in that direction, maintaining the mystery. Ultimately, it was concluded to be an astronomical object, though the description and behavior didn't fully align with expectations.
