UFO sighted near Otis AFB in 1966

Summary

In April 1966, a witness in Teaticket, Massachusetts, observed two bright objects resembling two red apples blinking in a side-by-side formation. The observer reported that after they disappeared, a red trail appeared between the two lights, similar to a rocket engine igniting. The object was moving westward, ascending above the horizon. Initially, the flight was level, but after the "ignition" of the trail, the object rapidly ascended. The observation lasted about 10 minutes.

The official conclusion attributed the phenomenon to the afterglow and navigation lights of an F-100 jet that was airborne over Otis Air Force Base at the time. This report is part of the records of Project 10073, which collected data on UFO sightings. Although the report mentions photographs, none are included in the document, and no physical evidence was found.
