🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1966, a witness in Sioux City, Iowa, observed an unidentified object with an oval shape and orange color. The object remained still, but had a white shadow moving around it. The sighting lasted between 3 and 5 minutes and was recorded at 2:30 AM. Although the official report suggested it might be a star seen through broken cloud cover, the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon was not ruled out. The witness, a housewife, did not provide further details about her age or experience with aerial phenomena.
The official report, classified under Project 10073, did not offer a conclusive explanation. Variable weather conditions, including broken clouds and fluctuating temperatures at different altitudes, were noted. An intelligence officer reviewed the case without being able to provide an alternative explanation. Despite the brief observation and lack of additional data, the case remains an example of many UFO reports that lacked a clear resolution.
