🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1966, a witness in St James, New York, observed a blue-green light moving rapidly across the sky. The witness, a driver returning home, initially thought it might be a fireworks display, but soon noticed unusual details. The object left a triangular white trail, similar to a comet, making the witness consider an astronomical event. However, the object behaved unexpectedly: the trail suddenly brightened and disappeared, while the green light descended like an aircraft on final approach. The witness saw no physical object, only lights, and could not identify the phenomenon, leading to a formal report.
The observation lasted between 3 and 5 seconds, and the witness noted the object lacked typical aircraft features like red wing lights. Additionally, no landing area was found nearby, increasing his confusion. Although the official conclusion was a meteor, the account suggests a complex visual experience that didn't fit conventional categories. The report lacks physical or photographic evidence, leaving the event open to interpretation.
