🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1966, a Braniff Airlines pilot reported an unidentified flying object during a night flight. The incident occurred near Lynch, West Virginia, at an altitude of 33,000 feet. The pilot described a bright object moving alongside his aircraft before disappearing rapidly. The U.S. Air Force requested additional information, but the original report lacked sufficient details for a full evaluation.
The object was observed for several minutes, and the pilot noted its unusual behavior, sharply deviating to the left and vanishing at high speed. An air traffic controller confirmed seeing the object on his radar, adding credibility to the account. Despite efforts to contact the pilot for more details, no further precise description of the phenomenon was obtained. The case remains unsolved, like many others in UFO history.
