🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1966, a witness in South Jamesport, New York, observed an object resembling a slow-moving satellite or star, changing colors from bright red to blue, green, and finally white. The object moved at about 500 feet in altitude, following a 25-degree angle northward, and faded to the west. Although binoculars were used, no photos or physical evidence were obtained. The Air Force concluded the data was insufficient and did not receive a response from the witness after 30 days.
The description included size changes, a straight path, and a secondary light in front of the main body. Additional witnesses, including neighbors and an officer, also saw it, though no planes were confirmed in the area. Confusion over directions and the lack of sound due to wind made evaluation difficult. The case was closed without resolution, but remains an example of an observation that did not easily fit conventional explanations.
