🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An observer reported a mysterious light in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in May 1966. The light alternated between white and red and remained visible for about 35 minutes. It was believed to be at an elevation of around 45 degrees, suggesting it was quite high in the sky. Despite the duration of the sighting, no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found.
The investigating officer concluded the light was likely from vehicles on the road to the summit of Pikes Peak. Park administration confirmed there was traffic on the road during the late evening. Although the object was not clearly identified, the report suggests it was a terrestrial explanation rather than an unidentified aerial phenomenon.
