🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1966, a witness in Winter Park, Florida, observed an object in the sky that stood out due to its grayish color and complete silence. While entering his house, he looked up and noticed the object stationary with a blinking red light on the bottom. When the object disappeared, the red light was still blinking, though it was unclear if the white light was blinking as well. The case was documented in an official Air Force report, which concluded it could be an aircraft, though the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon was not ruled out. The witness, a civilian pilot with a private license, was considered reliable.
The report notes that the object moved rapidly toward the southeast, maintaining a low altitude. Despite normal weather conditions, no physical evidence was found. The case was archived under the number 1966 05 7092358 and is part of a series of observations without a clear explanation. Although other common causes, such as planes or weather balloons, were dismissed, the report did not reach a definitive conclusion, leaving open the possibility that the object was misidentified.
