In May 1966, a witness in Chicago described a yellow, round object resembling a basketball that appeared in the western sky and quickly moved eastward. The object was visible for about three minutes before disappearing behind a building. No sound or trail was reported. Although the possibility of sunlight reflecting off an aircraft was considered, there was no conclusive evidence. The report did not rule out the possibility of an unidentified aerial object.
A second report, dated May 26, mentioned another similar object, observed for 45 minutes. However, due to the lack of additional information, the case was classified as insufficient for evaluation. The witness, a 33-year-old firefighter, described a bright object, like a star, that moved from north to south and then east. Although other witnesses confirmed the sighting, its nature could not be determined.
